The third leg in the race for The Triple Crown, The Belmont Stakes. Traditionally called, “The Test of the Champion” due to the length (1.5 miles) which is by far the longest of the three triple crown races. The Belmont Stakes also known as, “The Run for the Carnations” in a similar fashion to the Kentucky Derby, “The Run for The Roses, ” and the Preakness Stakes, “The Run for the Black-Eyed Susan.”
