BERKELEY, CA – August 4, 2016: The annual food drive at Golden Gate Fields returns on Sunday, August 21. Fans that plan to attend the races may donate canned food items, or make a cash donation, at the designated booths located outside of the admission gates in return for a Club House admission pass – valid for free entry into the races.
The annual food drive at Golden Gate Fields is part of the racetrack’s initiative to help raise charitable donations before the holiday season for the East Bay community. All proceeds from the food drive will go to the Alameda County Community Food Bank, which has provided support for food insecure children, adults, and seniors of Alameda County since 1985.
First post on Sunday, August 21 is scheduled for 1:45 p.m., with the gates opening at 10:00 a.m. for early-bird wagering on the east coast action. Donation booths for the food drive will be located in front of the General Admission gates (Buchanan Street entrance) and the Club House Admission gates (Gilman Street entrance).
